Ian Khama, Thuli Madonsela Targeted For Mediation In Zim's National Dialogue - Report

ZimLive claims to have in its possession a document that reveals that five of the 16 participating parties voted to have the process jointly mediated by the National Peace and Reconciliation Commission (NPRC) and the Zimbabwe Gender Commission (ZGC).

There other nominations with the respective votes include Bishop Chad Gandiya of the Anglican Church (1 vote); businessman and preacher Shingi Munyeza (1 vote); former Delta Corporation chairman Robbie Mupawose (1 vote); Bishop Nehemiah Mutendi of the Zion Christian Church (2 votes) and a Bishop Cele (1 vote).

The parties to the dialogue are said to have proposed the setting up of a committee called Political Actors Dialogue” or “POLAD”. The institution to house POLAD and act as the custodian of funding throughout the entire dialogue process should be the NPRC.

Meanwhile, the main opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) led by Nelson Chamisa; Joice Mujuru’s National People’s Party; Nkosana Moyo’s Alliance for the People’s Agenda and Noah Manyika’s Build Zimbabwe Alliance have refused to be part of the dialogue, demanding a neutral convener.
