Warriors Foreign-based Contingent Expected To Fly In On Monday

Zimbabwe’s foreign-based players are expected in the country on Monday afternoon ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier against Congo this weekend.

Part of a Daily News report reads as follows:

Warriors team manager Wellington Mpandare yesterday revealed SuperSport United forward Evans Rusike who sustained a knock during last week’s Absa Premiership match against Kaizer Chiefs in a 1-1 draw will be part of those that are expected in the country this afternoon at 14:35hrs.

Rusike will be accompanied by the Kaizer Chiefs pair of Khama Billiat and Teenage Hadebe and Polokwane City goalkeeper George Chigova and will be joined by the local players.

Mpandare said the majority of South Africa-based players will touch down at the Robert Mugabe International Airport at 17:00 and will be joined by other Europe-based players in Alec Mudimu, Tino Kadewere, Kelvin Lunga and Admiral Muskwe.

Skipper Knowledge Musona and the Orlando Pirates pair of Marshall Munetsi and Kuda Mahachi are only expected in the country tomorrow on time for the team’s first training session at the Yadah Complex where they will be camped ahead of the match.

Nottingham Forest defender Tendai Darikwa will only arrive on Wednesday.
