Cyclone Idai: Zim Govt Releases $50 Million, $2 Million Already Unaccounted For

Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and Publicity has announced that Government is disbursing $50M for Emergency and Infrastructure Restoration.

According to the breakdown supplied by the Information Ministry the Civil Protection Unit will get – $3 million while the Roads Department- Trunk Roads & damaged bridges will get the bulk of the money at $25 million.  The restoration of rural feeder roads & other structures will get $7.2 million,  education – $4 million, Health -$3 million, Water & Sanitation – $4.8 million and Electricity- $1 million. From the breakdown the money amounts to $48 million.
