Air Zimbabwe left Johannesburg to Bulawayo at the Robert Mugabe International Airport in Harare on 9 March after failing to provide them a connecting flight to Bulawayo or overnight accommodation in the city. The stranded passengers ended up having to sleep on benches inside the airport.
The passengers accused Air Zimbabwe of lying to them.
Said a ZimLive report on Twitter:
Air Zimbabwe told weary passengers it could not find accommodation for them in central Harare but in Goromonzi, more than an hour away. When the passengers insisted on being accommodated nearby, Air Zimbabwe staff told them: "Take it or leave it." Switched lights off and left 2/2 pic.twitter.com/RPiwxVIkfA
