Morgan ZINTECH Students Demonstrate
Morgan ZINTEC College students yesterday demonstrated over being fined for late submission of assignments as well as the institution’s failure to provide condoms in rest rooms.
The students also allege they are being barred from attending lectures for being late. The students chanted slogans and displayed placards demanding the ouster of college principal, Tonderai Zenda.Students who spoke to HMetro also complained about the college’s diet. Some said the restrooms are filthy.
Addressing the students, Zenda said he will meet the financial committee and fix the food situation. He however said he will not tolerate late comers. Said Zenda:
I have heard your grievances and we have spoken to the kitchen staff and I’m certain that the problem is going to be fixed soon. I’m very sorry but I heard about the food situation yesterday and I promise to meet with the finance committee and discuss the issue. We are going to make sure that your diet will improve. For the issue of the school starting time, I have no regret and we will not tolerate late comers since education system respects time. A teacher is supposed to be on time always, therefore we are training you to be good teachers.
