Six students from Lupane State University (LSU) were on Monday arrested in violent protests over access to lecture rooms at their Bulawayo campus.
The arrests were confirmed by Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube. Said Ncube:
I can confirm that we attended Lupane State University disturbances and six people were arrested for disorderly behaviour.
The students raised a number of issues in the lead-up to the protests. According to LSU spokesperson Zwelithini Dlamini, students expressed concerns over issues to do with WiFi accessibility and registration.
