Soldier Jailed 16 Months For Theft At Mugabe’s Blue Roof Mansion

A Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) soldier has been slapped with a 16 months’ prison sentence after he illegally entered former president Robert Mugabe’s Blue Roof mansion in Harare’s Borrowdale area.

The soldier identified as Ngonidzashe Kapasura, 26 and accomplice Raymond Chahwanda, 23, were thrown behind bars by Harare magistrate Victoria Mushamba on Thursday.

The duo will, however, serve an effective 6 months each behind bars after the rest of their respective sentences were suspended on conditions.

Kapasura and Chahwanda were caught red-handed with the property that had been stolen from the mansion by a security guard just before midnight on January 6 2019.
