$200 000 Cash Found At Accident Scene
A former Zimbabwe Republic Police Officer was found with more than $200 000 in his car after he was involved in a head-on collision at the 76km peg along Masvingo – Chivhu Road on Monday last week.
The police officer died in the accident, as well as a woman who was a passenger in his car.
The deceased officer was identified as Philip Mutsambi and was working in Guruve at the time of his death. The Mirror reports:
The accident was caused by an overtaking error and Officer Mutsambi died together with a woman who was a passenger in his car.
Mash East police spokesperson Inspector Tendai Mwanza confirmed the accident which killed two people. It is reported that $200 000 bond notes were recovered from Mutsambi’s car at the scene of the accident.

WhatsApp: 0783 450 793Mutsambi was driving towards Harare when he tried to overtake two vehicles. Whilst he was overtaking, he saw an oncoming vehicle and tried to avoid a head-on collision by veering off to the right side of the road.
The oncoming motorist also veered off to his left side and the two motor vehicles had a head-on collision. Mutsambi and his passenger died on spot. Two other people who were injured were rushed to Chivhu General Hospital.
