Mudenda Says He's Not Aware Why MDC MPs Are Being Harassed

Speaker of the House of Assembly Jacob Mudenda said that Members of Parliament are protected by the law and the Constitution of the land.

Mudenda’s remarks follow the MDC Alliance’s claim that its MPs are routinely being harassed by suspected state security agents, the latest case being that of Harare West MP Joanna Mamombe who was allegedly stalked by a group of six armed gunmen.

Said Mudenda:

I do not even know the issues pertaining to their security and why they are being harassed.

Yes, I did receive a letter from leader of the opposition in the National Assembly, Thabitha Khumalo, saying her party MPs were being harassed, and I have already dealt with the issue.
