Evan Mawarire Was Sponsored By Army To Oppose Mugabe- NPF Spokesperson

National Patriotic Front (NPF) spokesperson Jealousy Mawarire has said ThisFlag activist and cleric Evan Mawarire was sponsored by the army to oppose former President Robert Mugabe.

Speaking on Twitter on Mugabe’s 95th birthday on Thursday, Jealousy Mawarire said the army gave Pastor Evan protection and brought tickets for him and his family to go to the United States. He was responding to Pastor Evan’s comment on Mugabe’s birthday. Pastor Evan had said it is hard for him to say happy birthday to a man who ruined millions of birthdays. Said Pastor Evan:

Robert Mugabe u turn 95 today. its hard 2 say happy birthday coz millions had unhappy birthdays or fewer ones, they died due 2 yo brutality. I suffered at yo direct instruction but I’m strong enough 2 say I FORGIVE U. I hope u live long enough 2 ask those u destroyed 4 forgiveness

However, the spokesperson of the Mugabe affiliated party, shot back and said:

The other side you dont tell pple is that u opposed him at the behest of the army, they gave you protection which was never given to those vawakaitisa, they bought you & your family air tickets, hapana chatisingazivi vakuru.Enjoy working with the army, your work isn’t finished
