President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Wednesday officially launched the India-Africa Incubation Centre.

The centre is meant for training women and youths and prepares them for employment creation and strengthening the SMEs sector as Zimbabwe embarks on economic revival. It aims at growing SMEs so that they can create tomorrow’s business people. The project is housed under the Ministry of Women’s Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development in conjunction with the government of India through their Harare embassy.

The incubation centre trains entrepreneurs in wire-making and hardware, producing nails and paper clips. The second division deals with tomato ketchup and fruit juice production, bread-making, coffee-making and oil expressing. The paper section produces tissue papers, cardboard and chart paper. There is also a section dealing with sewing and knitting of socks, scarfs and jerseys and bottle-making.
