Masvingo Senior Magistrate Fired For Being Too Lenient

The Judicial Services Commission (JSC) has fired a senior Masvingo magistrate, Peter Madhibha, for gross incompetence, among a litany of other charges.

This was confirmed to The Herald by the JSC secretary, Walter Chikwanha.

Madhibha was one of the most senior magistrates at the Masvingo
Magistrates’ Court.

The JSC accused Madhibha of passing non-custodial and lenient sentences on some offences that would under normal circumstances warrant stiffer penalties.
