High Court Upholds Ruling Banning Chief Charumbira From Politics

The Electoral Resource Centre (ERC) revealed that the High Court of Zimbabwe has dismissed President of the Chiefs Council, Chief Fortune Charumbira’s appeal that the Court reverses it’s ruling that the chief should not be involved in partisan politics. The ERC statement reads as follows:

The High Court has upheld an ERC Chamber Application against Chief Charumbira dismissing a rescission of judgement application brought by the Chief against ERC. The Chief was seeking to rescind a 2018 High Court Order against him for involvement in politics.
