Chiredzi Residents Abandon Flooded Homes After Heavy Rainfall Overnight
Chiredzi town has been affected by floods after heavy rains pounded the town on Wednesday night.
Residents were last night forced to abandon their homes as water cascaded into houses due to the town’s poor drainage.
A Tshovani resident who spoke to ZimLive.com said:
After a long dry spell, Chiredzi received torrential rainfall from around 9 PM on Wednesday into early Thursday leading to flash floods.
My printer and photocopier, as well as books and certificates, were all drenched. In the end, my room was like a small dam. I had to sleep on a neighbour’s sofa, his house is on higher ground.
