Spokesperson of the Nelson Chamisa led MDC, Jacob Mafume confirmed his party had received President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s invitation to discuss a framework for dialogue and interaction.
Mafume said the MDC will consult its membership on whether to attend the meeting or not considering they have political prisoners. Responding to a question on Twitter Mafume said:
We have received .Our membership will consulted however we have prisoners of conscience. Political prisoners created by an overzealous judiciary.
Mnangagwa’s invitation comes after he called for national dialogue following his return from a tour of Eastern Europe. The meeting which was initially scheduled for tomorrow morning will be held at 4PM today at State House.
