BREAKING: ZESA Fires Suspended Chief Executive Officer Josh Chifamba

ZESA Holdings has fired chief executive Joshua Chifamba after the board decided not to extend his second term contract. Chifamba was last year suspended and subsequently arrested on allegations of corruption and criminal abuse of office.

The ZESA board decided not to extend Chifamba’s contract on December 13, last year. The decision was endorsed by the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) in consultation with the Minister of Energy.

Chifamba was arrested together with Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution managing director Engineer Julian Chinembiri and his finance director Thokozani Dhliwayo.
