FC Platinum will have to wait another four months until striker Edmore Chirambare is eligible to turn out for the Zvishavane-based outfit.
Chrambadare signed for Platinum while he still had a contract with South Africa’s National First Division side, Maccabi.
Reports indicate that Chirambadare’s contract with Maccabi has four months left. He was part of the Maccabi squad that lost 0-1 to Ajax Cape Town on Saturday.
In an interview with Newsday Sport, Maccabi FC administrator Elasto Lungu expressed ignorance over reports that Chirambadare has signed for FC Platinum. Said Lungu:
Maccabi is not aware of any contract signed by Edmore Chirambadare with any other club.
The only contract Maccabi knows is the one he signed with the club. Right now, he is back at Maccabi and he played against Ajax Cape Town yesterday (Saturday).
Unfortunately, the club cannot disclose our contract with him. The player is free to do so if he wishes to but in the right procedure.
FC Platinum are in need of firepower after struggling in the ongoing Total CAF Champions League. After playing three games in the tournament, FC Platinum has so far failed to find the target.
