Immigration Department Deports Two Britons, Indians For Overstaying In The Country

Two British nationals were recently deported by the Immigration Department after a Harare magistrate found them guilty of contravening the Immigration Act.

The British duo, Mark Julian Pattle and Nicholas Bailey were convicted and sentenced a fine of $100 or 15 days’ imprisonment each.

Immigration Department public relations officer Canisia Magaya revealed that the Department caused the arrest of four other nationals in the first week of 2019 for contravening the Immigration Act. Said Magaya:

The four who comprise of two Indian and two British nationals were picked up for crimes of violation of visitor entry conditions and staying in the country illegally.

The Indians have been declared Prohibited Immigrants following the cancellation of their visitor entry certificates.
