Leaving Chiwenga In Charge Was The Wrong Thing To Do- Acie Lumumba Tells Mnangagwa

Political analyst Acie Lumumba real name William Mutumanje has told President Emmerson Mnangagwa that leaving Vice President Constantino Chiwenga in charge was the wrong thing to do.

Lumumba said announcing a fuel hike and leaving the country for a tour of Eastern Europe was not not the problem. Responding to Mnangagwa on Twitter, Lumumba said:

Mr. President one week ago your government butchered innocent men and women. It was NOT the right thing to do to announce a fuel hike and run. It’s not the announcement or running that’s crazy, it’s who you left in charge. Musadaro mudhara! Tinopera kufa.

Mutumanje was responding to President Mnangagwa who had said:

One week ago, I announced measures to stabilise our nation’s crucial fuel supply. I was aware that these measures may not be popular, and this was not a decision we took lightly. But it was the right thing to do.
