Govt Has No Right To Take Away The Lives Of People – Chamisa

MDC Alliance president Nelson Chamisa castigated President Emmerson Mnangagwa for failing the country by resorting to terror in dealing with people’s legitimate grievances.

Chamisa said this in Chitungwiza at the funeral wake of a local footballer, Tinashe Kelvin Choto who was shot in the head and died on the spot on Monday. Said Chamisa:

If you check, the constitution demands the President to serve the country, not to beat the people when they demand him to serve them.

He has failed on his duties. Government has no right to take away the life of the people, but to protect them. Tinashe died not because he was sick, but because the government is sick.

… I want to write a letter to Mnangagwa, asking him why he is killing his people. We want to take the matter up with Sadc, the UN and all organs and tell them that the people are under siege from their own government.

Chamisa further castigated the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation for biased reporting. ZBC is notorious for reporting news that is totally divorced to the situation obtaining on the ground.
