Reports indicated that the government of Zimbabwe has ordered internet service providers in the country to block access to Virtual Private Network (VPN) services. The country’s internet providers have already blocked access to social media sites and apps after being ordered to do so by the government. VPNs however were being used by some Zimbabweans to bypass the restriction.
It’s not clear how many services providers have blocked access to VPNs so far, but reports suggest a significant number of internet are affected.
