Chinhoyi To Attain City Status After Fulfilling 80 Per Cent Of The Requirements

Chinhoyi Town Clerk Maxwell Kaitano has revealed that the town has successfully submitted its application with the Ministry of Local Government to attain city status. Said Kaitano:

We submitted our city status application well before the December 31, 2018 deadline after fulfilling 80% of the requirements. We are reliably informed that a committee is looking into our application before the minister takes it to Cabinet for approval.

Kaitano said that they were hopeful that Chinhoyi will attain city status in the first half of this year.
