A ZBC News report claims that normalcy has returned to the Beitbridge Border Post after days of chaos experienced over the past few days associated with the festive season.
Assistant Regional Immigration Officer Mr Nqobile Ncube told ZBC News that some of the lessons learnt are the importance of separating traffic and improving service for exit travellers. He said:
We noted the importance of segmenting traffic. This is important. We have also noted that there are bigger challenges at exit points.
The immigration authorities at the region’s busiest port were overwhelmed by the surge in human and vehicular traffic which resulted in the formation of long winding queues.
