FULL STATEMENT: Rural Teachers To Camp At Mthuli Ncube’s Offices Until Grievances Are Met

Teachers, civil servants, broader working class and the citizens at large are invited to the salary camp at Mthuli’s offices. Citizens will convene at Africa Unity Square at 0900hrs on 7 January 2019 and proceed to Mthuli’s office where they will camp until the following grievances are met.

We are demanding
Adequate learning material for the new curriculum,
Salaries in United States dollars,
2018 annual bonus in full,
The scrapping of the 2% tax.

The participants in the salary camp will march with their POCKETS OUT signifying that they are broke. Amalgamated Rural Teachers’ Union of Zimbabwe, ARTUZ invites all citizens who can’t make it to the march to join the fight by pulling their POCKETS OUT and post their pictures on social media accompanied with #salarycamp. Pictures can also be sent to Whatsapp numbers and Facebook page captured for our information department.

The incapacitated teachers who will not be able to go to work if they are not paid in United States dollars will be conducting free lessons in front of Mthuli’s offices for the duration of the salary camp. Citizens who are keen to learn are invited to join our salary camp classes.
ARTUZ notes that there will be a meeting on Monday 7 January 2018. We will deploy our negotiators to negotiate in good faith while the rest of our members patiently wait for the good news at Mthuli’s offices.

We are encouraged by the timely response of the government to Delta’s demand for foreign currency. We are confident that with more consistency and revolutionary discipline our demands will also be met.

Post your *POCKETS OUT* pictures on contacts below.
