ZIMRA Collects Nearly $5 Billion Transfer Money in 2018

The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) has said that it expects to collect about $5 Billion in 2018. At the end of November more than $4.3 Billion had been collected, and in December, ZIMRA expects to collect about $600 Million.

Said ZIMRA Commissioner General Faith Mazani,

Cumulative collections since January are positive. We were given a target to collect $600 million during the last month of the year and as of Friday last week, we had collected about $540 million. We are thus confident that we will reach the $5 billion mark by the end of the year

In Zimbabwe, tax is mostly paid via electronic transfer which means that most of the revenue collected to date is in the form of Transfer “currency”, which currently worth about a third of USD.
