The Motlanthe Commission report recommended that those found guilty of shooting, killing and maiming civilians on August 1 should be investigated and punished. The report was presented to the public on Tuesday evening by President Mnangagwa.
The report exonerated the opposition from allegations of shooting at protestors and laid the blame squarely at the feet of the military and the police. Part of the report reads
It is imperative for the police to urgently complete their investigations to enable the prosecution of those persons responsible for all alleged crimes committed on August 1, 2018.
Those particular members of the military and of the police found to be in breach of their professional duties and discipline should be identified as soon as possible for internal investigations and appropriate sanction, which should include hearing from the victims and their families for impact assessment and provide appropriate compensation.
… The military should conduct an immediate full audit of its standing orders and procedures for engaging in law and order enforcement operations, including riot control, in order to identify in an appropriate public report the lessons learnt and tailored safeguards to be undertaken to prevent any indiscipline that could lead to the loss of life and injury in the future.

I have read the report and never saw where its said the kneeling soldier should be charged at all. Kneeling is not evidence that the kneeling character shot anyone at all. It is normal for Zimbabweans to comment on issues they do not understand whether ballistics or at law especially you journalists.
It is high time that such murders are brought to book for murdering civilians.We have murders that go unresolved in this country .God will intervene and i feel sorry for such murderers who think they are clever.Time is running out for them.
