VID To Target Defective And Unroadworthy Vehicles In Festive Season Blitz
The government recently announced that there will be a huge police presence on the country’s roads during the festive season. This follows a spate of deadly road accidents which have claimed scores of lives in the past couple of weeks.
The Minister for Roads and Infrastructural Development Joel Biggie Matiza said that the Vehicle Inspectorate Department (VID) will target defective vehicles. Matiza had this to say
I would like, in particular, to appeal to operators of public service vehicles as well as private motorists, not to use defective and unroadworthy vehicles.
FeedbackIn this respect, I want to advise would-be-offenders that (the) Zimbabwe Republic Police and (the) Vehicle Inspectorate Department will be on the lookout for defective vehicles throughout the holiday period.
