How Zimbabweans On Twitter Reacted To War Veterans' Call To Raise Presidential Age Limit
War veterans yesterday moved a motion ahead of the Zanu PF annual national people’s conference to have the ruling party use its supermajority in Parliament to raise the minimum age for presidential aspirants from the current 40 years to 52. Below are some of the reactions to the motion moved by war veterans:

A President has to be mature that's why the age limit was moved from 18 years to 40 years. But if those at 40 years proved to be immature like what we are witnessing, there is urgent need to lift the presidential age limit to 52 years . https://t.co/dcq2PWn1gW

We are still against the age limit which restricts youth, it’s retrogressive, it restricts millions from presidential possibility. This tweet seeks to highlight that with 2/3 we have many possibilities and that MDC A panicked.

The people are calling upon the movement to uproot this archaic ,incompetent and corrupt regime which is now plotting to throw the country into further turmoil by increasing the minimum age limit for presidential candidates.

2) Zanu PF's new dispensation mantra put to the test… No need to abuse 2/3 majority and deal a massive blow to the spirit of constitutionalism….

Constitution was born out of wide consultations and a referendum… It will take a leader who preaches real democracy to stop that nonsense

For the first time I think I agree with War Veterans and ZANU PF that there should be a minimum age limit fo any Presidential candidate in Zimbabwe to 52.
However I urge them to also include a cap on the age of the President to 75.
Thats democracy I guess??????

I actually Support raising that age limit… If anything is to go by, l am one of the first people to call for it and promised to lobby for it…. Two things l am passionate about:
1. Banishing Sanction Beggars.
2. Raising the Presidential Candidate age limit.— Kudzai Mutisi (@KMutisi) December 5, 2018
