42 People Feared Dead As Bus Catches Fire Along Beitbridge-Bulawayo Road
Forty-two people are feared to have died after a bus caught fire along the Beitbridge-Bulawayo road on Thursday night. National police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba, told ZBC News that over 20 people are reported to have been injured.
Preliminary investigations suggest that there were hazardous substances which exploded leading to the bus catching fire. The bus was coming from Zvishavane headed for Mussina, South Africa.
Yesterday’s accident comes barely two weeks after two other buses ( a Bolt Cutter and Smart Express bus) side-swiped along the Harare-Mutare road (near Rusape) that led to the death of 50 passengers and scores hospitalised.
