Chamisa Acused Of Assaulting A Toyota Harrier Driver

The driver of a Toyota Harrier involved in the ‘attempted kidnapping’ of MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa has filed a police report. The driver reportedly accused Chamisa’s convoy and his entourage of blocking his way and assaulting him. The incident took place on Saturday when Chamisa was returning from Mrondera where he had addressed his supporters. The MDC party insists that there was an attempt by security service agents to abduct Chamisa. Speaking to the media on Sunday, Information and Publicity Minister Monica Mutsvangwa said

Reports filed by the police indicate that some people were coming from Marondera, driving behind what they later learnt to be Mr Chamisa’s convoy. Suddenly, the convoy stopped and blocked them from overtaking. They were aggressively confronted and manhandled by members of Mr Chamisa’s entourage, including Mr Chamisa, who lobbed himself at the back seat of their vehicle, punching and scratching.

  1. Chamisa`s security should have arrested the Toyota Harrier driver and hand him to the police if they suspected that he was in a mission to abduct Chamisa. Chamisa was not supposed to take the law into his own hands.

  2. But they said the Harrier its an MDC vehicle so which is which? Its only after Biti said he has never owned a Harrier that the story changed. Where did this thing happen?
