Tinashe Kambarami Remains Bulawayo Deputy Mayor- Komichi

Speaking to The Chronicle, MDC vice president, Mr Morgen Komichi, yesterday said Ward 3 councillor, Tinashe Kambarami, remains Bulawayo Deputy Mayor.

Said Komichi:

I think this issue has already been resolved. Clr Kambarami remains the party’s elected Deputy Mayor for Bulawayo. The party allowed the councillors to go for an election which he won and that has to be respected.

MDC Bulawayo province had ordered Kambarami to resign from his position or risk being expelled from party and council. Kambarami was accused of defying party orders to have Ward 1 Councillor Mlandu Ncube elected to the post. Kambarami orally announced his resignation last Sunday as Bulwayo’s Deputy Mayor in the presence of the party’s president, Nelson Chamisa, only to be re-elected on the following day.

  1. Squabbles after squabbles its high time MDC should learn to resolve its disputes amicably. Many MDC`s splits gave advantage to ZANU PF in previous elections.
