Mthuli Ncube Fired Me Because He Realised I Am More Efficient Outside His Ministry- Acie Lumumba

Acie Lumumba who was recently relieved of his position as Chairman of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development Communications Taskforce, said he was not fired because of his tainted past.

Speaking during a Facebook Live video on Tuesday evening, Lumumba said Ncube was pressured into firing him by Queen Bee’s allies. He said one of the “Boys” from the Ministry of Information who is aligned to Queen Bee received $35 000 to get him fired. After Ncube’s purported appointment of Lumumba, Deputy Minister of Information Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Energy Mutodi came out saying that the Finance Minister was undermining his ministry by the appointment and claimed that he had also neglected to consult the people at the Information Ministry. Said Lumumba:

Queen Bee has captured Government. Our Government is under capture. Any Government official who did not buy his/her own car had it bought by Queen Bee. You got Government Ministers panicking, literally panicking, literally panicking saying “Lumumba has insulted Queen Bee”, so everybody is piling pressure on the Minister to say fire Lumumba. But the Minister is saying “Lumumba didn’t say this on behalf of the Ministry, Lumumba said what he said on behalf of himself on his social platform”. So everybody is going crazy. The pressure was incredible, especially from people from Monica Mutsvangwa’s Ministry who wrote many press statements saying they had fired me. And I asked myself are they running scared because of what I know or because of Queen Bee. Some people from the Ministry of Information received a bribe from Queen Bee. One of the “Boys” received $35 000.

Lumumba said Ncube did not fire him because he stole State funds or because of his sextape. He said the Finance Minister fired him because he realised Lumumba is more useful outside of the Finance Ministry. Said Lumumba:

I didn’t get fired because I am not a nice guy. I didn’t get fired because I stole anything, I didn’t get fired because of a sextape. I didn’t get fired because you don’t like me. I got fired because of one reason and one reason alone. I got fired because Minister Mthuli Ncube actually realised I am more efficient to you when I am outside of his ministry. Because in the Ministry I am so limited, I am limited because I have to check this with Permanent Secretary George (Guvamatanga) and George would want to go in a different direction and Ncube wants to go in his own. Now that I am outside do you understand the things my eyes have seen? Now I can talk about it and not worry about getting fired. Remember they were not paying me anyway so you cannot say I have lost money…
