Govt Does Not Tell Herald What To Report- Caesar Zvayi Says He Makes Own Independent Editorial Decisions

Editor-in-chief of The Herald, Caesar Zvayi said under President Mnangagwa’s admnistration, no one was dictating to him, he was making his own informed decisions.

Zavyi said this during the Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services meeting with editors from the print media at Munhumutapa Building yesterday. He was responding to Zimbabwe Independent editor, Dumisani Muleya, who alleged that Zimpapers was not independent of the ministry’s interference. Said Zvayi:

No one is talking to me. I make my own independent editorial decisions. There was a time when there was interference when there was a certain professor but so far so good, the buck stops with me.

Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services permanent ministry praised Zimpapers for its pluralism and accommodating different people in its radio programmes.
