We Are Not Pursuing Politicians, We Are Following Up On All Customers With Unpaid Bills - Zesa Holdings

Zesa Holdings has said that it is not pursuing politicians over unpaid electricity bills. According to the power utility, it is making a follow up on all customers who have unpaid bills. Minister of Energy and Power Development Joram Gumbo recently said that Zesa was going to go after all senior politicians from the ruling Zanu-PF party and the opposition who have unpaid bills. However, in a statement Zesa Holdings board chairperson Herbert Murerwa said,

ZESA Holdings commends the media for highlighting the challenges that ZESA has been experiencing as relating to the payment of bills especially given the fact that ZETDC is owed over a billion dollars in arrears by various customer categories.

ZESA urges all customers who are in arrears to pay their debts or enter into viable and mutually agreed payment plans to avoid the inconvenience associated with the withdrawal of service, and/or handing over to our lawyers for litigation who are handling the issue in a fair and transparent manner with very positive results.
