Zanu-PF has redeployed some of the former cabinet ministers who were recently axed by President Emmerson Mnangagwa to head party departments at the Zanu-PF headquarters, where they will be working full time. The department heads who are termed secretaries will have full ministerial status and perks as they are said to be equal or more senior to those in government. However, the Secretary for the Youth League and the Secretary for the Women’s League do not have the same status.
The department heads with full ministerial status are
- Obert Mpofu – Secretary for Administration
- Chris Mushowe – Secretary for Economic Affairs
- Paul Mangwana – Secretary for Legal Affairs
- Patrick Chinamasa – Secretary for Finance
- Engelbert Rugeje – Secretary for Commissariat
- Simbabrashe Mumbengegwi – Secretary for External Affairs
- Douglas Mahiya – Secretary for War Veterans.
A secretary for security is yet to named. Commenting on the redeployments, Zanu-PF’s representative in the United Kingdom and Europe, Nick Mangwana said,
Zanu PF has a lot commercial interests and membership. It has local corporate backing and can afford to pay its Executives perks which are higher than those paid to Ministers…These are senior party members deployed to work for the party full time. They will help rebuild the party and enjoy perks and status that reflect that seniority to those in government.
Zanu PF. Will you guys stop using Zanupf word when you are talk Zimbabwe issues. People know the party that is ruling. There is no need to say Zanu PF. Please learn to involve all people of Zimbabwe when addressing issues. You are still behind so much, you need improvement.

Your move to recognize the input of Senior Politicians is the best. God rewards hard work – therefore, its a godly principle. Having said so, please engage those without Parliamentary seats so as to keep them busy on economic development so that you put an end to factions and in-house fighting. The ideology of ZANU PF is second best to none for it demonstrated a resilience that even the erstwhile enemies have admired. The quality of our emancipation has made us masters of our destiny. Never again shall we sacrifice our freedoms on the platter of political expedience. Therefore, the philosophy of ZANU PF must be taught and learnt by the young generation, they all must know where we came from and how we got here for posterity’s sake. There is a lot of work out there to be done to improve the standard and quality of the life for our people. The good work ethic that Zimbabweans are known for must benefit Zimbabwe. You have started well.
Why do ZANU PF people think everything is all about them. This country belongs to the people and is for the people. Lets concentrated on rebuilding the nation if we are serious about it. ZANU PF please stop abusing the country and start rebuilding it.
