MPs, Senators To Be Sworn In On Wednesday

According to a notice published in an Extraordinary Government Gazette yesterday,  Clerk of Parliament Kennedy Chokuda announced that newly elected National Assembly members and senators will take oaths of office on Wednesday next week.

Chokuda said MPs will be sworn in at ten o’clock the morning and senators at half past two o’clock in the afternoon. After taking the oaths, the National Assembly members will elect the Speaker of the National Assembly and his or her deputy and senators will also elect their president and his or her deputy.
