Nkosana Moyo Congratulates Mnangagwa

Alliance for the People’s Agenda (APA) leader Nkosana Moyo has congratulated President elect Emmerson Mnangagwa following the Constitutional Court’s decision to uphold the results announced by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC).

He also said that although APA is not represented in Parliament it will continue to work for good governance, prudent management of the economy, constitutionalism and we will start to work in preparation for the 2023 election. We publish Dr Moyo’s full statement below:

Now that the Constitutional Court has made its ruling, APA would like to congratulate President-elect Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Whilst it must be clear that APA firmly stood against the unconstitutional take over of power, we nevertheless acknowledge that an election has taken place on the basis of which the Constitutional Court has affirmed President Mnangagwa’s win as indicative of the will of the people.

Our offer to rehabilitate Zimbabwe as articulated in our manifesto was clear on what we believe the task ahead of the nation is. Economic management based on meritocracy, transparency, zero tolerance to corruption, nation building, and introspection. We hope the incoming administration will pay heed to these guidelines.
