Sadc Should Give Zim Ultimatum To Investigate How Military Killed Civilians - Zimrights

The Zimbabwe Human Rights Association (ZimRights) has challenged Sadc to push for an investigation into how the military ended up using live bullets to disperse protesters. At least seven people are reported to have died after being gunned down. ZimRights director Okay Machisa told NewsDay,

Zimbabwe should be given an ultimatum of investigating how the military ended up killing civilians and that the report should be made public and there is need for Sadc to give a timeframe by which this matter will be concluded.

…Sadc should seriously look at issues of demilitarising State institutions in Zimbabwe. As the people’s summit, we have realised that there is a process brewing within the region where the State is killing its people within the auspices that they are trying to protect the same people.
