Speaking to British broadcaster Sky News, Zanu-PF secretary for legal affairs Paul Mangwana dismissed the MDC Alliance’s Constitutional Court challenge against the presidential election results.
Mangwana also told the opposition that elections are not won in court but in the field and said his party is ready to face them in court. Said Mangwana:
I am confident they have no case. Elections are not won in court, they are won in the field. But if they want to meet us in court we have sufficient legal minds to meet them squarely in court.
The presidential inauguration of Zimbabwe’s Emmerson Mnangagwa has been delayed amid a court challenge to his election victory.
