Police Are Not To Be Trusted, They Voted Against Mnangagwa: Minister Mukupe

Controversial Deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Terrence Mukupe has accused the police of being sympathetic to the opposition claiming that the ZRP’s Support Unit voted against President Emmerson Mnangagwa. Mukupe also said that it was necessary for the government to deploy the army to quell the protest by opposition supporters because the police had refused to arrest the opposition supporters.

In a social media post, a few hours after the army used live bullets on the protestors, Mukupe said,

How do we send the ZRP Support Unit that voted against the President to contain the stupid demo by Biti and his MDC buffoons! It is time for the army to move in and restore order!.
