Presidential Spokesperson George Charamba Disowns Twitter Account After It Claims Mnangagwa Lost

President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s spokesperson George Charamba has disowned a Twitter account saying that he is not on the social media site. This comes after the handle @GeorgeCharamba commented on the harmonised elections held on Monday and called for the disqualification of MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa. The account also claimed that it was “100% certain” that the country was heading for a presidential run-off as Nelson Chamisa was narrowly edging President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Charamba, who doubles as the Permanent Secretary for Information, Media and Broadcasting Services, said that the account had been created by people who wanted to peddle lies and misinform the nation.
