Former Studio 263 Actress Tatenda Mavetera Contesting As Zanu-PF Candidate

Former Studio 263 actress Tatenda Mavetera who played the role of Tendai Jari is the Zanu-PF Seke Chikomba women’s quota candidate in the forthcoming harmonised elections set for July 30.

In an interview with The Herald, she said she has been in politics for 12 years behind the scenes at Zanu-PF. Mavetera said after Studio 263 she got into farming and construction and has been working with the Zimbabwe Youth Council. She said if she is elected she will prioritise women’s issues as well as young people. She said she is ready for politics. Said Mavetera:

As much as politics can be hostile, I think I have what it takes to handle the challenges. Television and politics are not too different, they both aim to impact people’s lives.
