President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s spokesperson George Charamba has denied that Mnangagwa’s administration had a hand in the bomb which exploded on Saturday at White City Stadium in Bulawayo. 2 people have died so far while at least 49 people were injured in the explosion. Charamba also explained why Mnangagwa was out visiting hospitals instead of being secured following the attempt on his life. Speaking to the Daily News, Charamba said,
You think where you have such serious injuries, including high-profile ones; you use such an incident, to achieve what? I mean, that’s a bit of a psychopathic thinking. That is uncalled for in circumstances that are so dire and quite serious…The safety was there. If you notice there was a time gap between the attack and the time he then went to Mater Dei. Lots of things happened and we don’t have to go shouting on a rooftop.
…The safety was there. If you notice there was a time gap between the attack and the time he then went to Mater Dei. Lots of things happened and we don’t have to go shouting on a rooftop…If the president had gone straight for the airport, what is he suggesting? That the people in Bulawayo can’t be protected? Or that those injured shouldn’t be commiserated with? So he does his human and State duties. And it’s his responsibility anyway to secure the country. So people shouldn’t reduce matters that are so serious to fanciful scenarios.
…there are unresolved leadership issues in this country, don’t forget that…You see, generally, it’s very difficult to insure against a device that can be thrown at its target. It can happen anytime and anywhere.

One of our biggest problem for the past 38 years is drawing the lines between party politics and Government business.Who is George referring to as”We’?.Does government stage manage things? All government positions are filled, what leadership issues is he referring to?As far as l am concerned he is a permanent secretary for Media and Information doubling as presidential spokesperson.Clearly the issues he is referring to are very far to the north of government business. If we are serious about the new Zimbabwe, roles and responsibilities should be clear and adhered to.
which leadership crisis? when you say it can happen anywhere …. mmm I smell a rat ….. you now want to do it to Chamisa.
Charamba, shut up, you are a civil servant you don’t know what happens behind closed doors in politics, you are a mere sheep who is singing for his supper, yesterday you were singing for supper with Robert, why is it that every time the pictures which are doing rounds for the injured is for the wife of the VP Chiwenga, H.E. is all over the show on those pictures seeking sympathy, another sign of STAGE MANAGING incidents, why did we not see only one or two pictures of the seriously injured top and VVIP personnel. It only explains that these politicians can sacrifice any small fish for their gran strategic plan without a whim. Immediately after the explosion H.E. was again around 1800hrs merely less than 24hrs after the so called explosion H.E was at the Borrowdale Brooke in person to pay another visit to the wife of the VP to check if she was recovering because things almost went out of plan when she was almost caught on the crossfire.
…there are unresolved leadership issues in this country, don’t forget that… You are right there Charamba, the issue of legitimacy is eating you and your bosses, you know where you are standing even if you try kuzvichenesa chakańgora chinhu ichi chirikuda kucheneswa chinhu chamakabvuta ichi, without standing the fact that you did well by removing Robert, but it does not legitimatise your government, first world countries are shunning you that you know for a fact, ngwena haidyi chepamba chayo chinoza neronga……. asi apa ngwena yabuda muvura ikaenda ikandobata ñgombe mudanga.
