Disgruntled Zanu-PF MPs Register As Independents In Masvingo, Say There Was Rigging In Primary Elections

Zanu PF chief whip, Lovemore Matuke has conceded that the decision by disgruntled party members to register as independents may divide votes for the party. This comes as party members who were unsatisfied with the outcome of the Zanu-PF primary elections registered to contest in the July 30 elections. Some of the disgruntled aspiring candidates include,

  • Darlington Chiwa whose name was erased from the voters roll in Chiredzi West constituency will face Farai Musikavanhu.
  • Pascal Mudzikisi, who was blocked in Masvingo North will face Agriculture deputy minister Davis Marapira.
  • Michael Taderera who was blocked in Masvingo Urban will face Bernard Mazarire.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa who once held a national healing workshop for losing and winning candidates,  will be holding a rally in Masvingo.
