Zimbabweans on Twitter have started a #MukupeMustFall campaign after the deputy finance minister insulted MDC Alliance partner Tendai Biti during a debate on Star FM on Thursday afternoon. Terrence Mukupe alleged that Biti is taking anti-retroviral treatment which did not go down well with some section of the public. Below are some of the tweets using the hashtag:

Mukupe is ignorant and does not deserve to hold public office
I’m very disappointed in his childish utterances and national radio.I expected better from someone who holds such a high public office
President Mnangagwa should do the correct thing – to relieve Mukupe of his duties. He has done enough circus to make the party a laughing stock. MUKUPE MUST RESIGN
Mukupe should go not fit for a leader. His stupid utterance to Biti is an insult to Zimbabweans. You don’t go round mocking about someone.’s health it’s ignorant and stupid. He should not be a leader in our beautiful country. Mnangagwa should sack him straight away
