Mugabe Summoned Over Missing $15 Billion Diamond Revenue

The Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Mines and Mining Development chaired by Norton MP Temba Mliswa has summoned former president Robert Mugabe to answer questions on the missing $15 billion diamond revenue.

Mugabe is expected to appear before the committee on Wednesday 23 May. Mliswa told NewsDay that the committee is willing to conduct the hearing at Mugabe’s Blue Roof residence in Borrowdale.

Several top government officials have already been questioned over the matter. These include former Mines ministers Obert Mpofu, and Walter Chidakwa, ex-State security ministers Didymus Mutasa and Sydney Sekeramai, former Home Affairs minister Ignatious Chombo and Central Intelligence Organisation, police and army bosses.
