Vice President, General Constantino Chiwenga has said that the ruling Zanu-PF party was placed by God on earth and as such should win the 2018 harmonised elections. The vice president made the claim at the burial of Sakunda owner, Kudakwashe Tagwirei’s father Phineas. Speaking in Shurugwi, Chiwenga said,
Zanu PF is the party that was put by God on this earth and should, therefore, continue ruling this country. In a few months’ time, we are going to finish business (in elections) and Zimbabwe should then move forward.
At the same funeral, President Emmerson Mnangagwa also commended Tagwirei for funding the government’s Command Agriculture programme. Said Mnangagwa,
Kudakwashe is a very capable person when it comes to sourcing funds for the command agriculture. He has and is still working with government to make sure that the programme is a success.
