Zanu-PF Primary Election Reruns Extended As Logistical Challenges Prove To Be A Stumbling Block Again

Zanu-PF primary election reruns were extended to today because ballot papers were dispatched late at most polling centres.

There was also confusion over constituency command centres. In Zvimba North, Zanu-PF supporters in the constituency’s 17 party districts were still waiting for the ballot papers which had not arrived by midday yesterday while some had already returned home after spending the day waiting to vote. The primary elections could not be held last time because of the distribution of ballot papers.

Voting started late at most centres in Chegutu West, Chegutu East and Makonde constituency because ballot papers were delivered late. In Harare South, voting started in the afternoon in most areas after there was a delay in the distribution of polling material.
