The leader of the breakaway MDC-T party Thokozani Khupe will be launching her party’s election manifesto on Saturday in Bulawayo. The party will also finalise its candidate selection. National spokesperson Linda Masarira said,
The campaign machinery will be revealed at the Election Campaign and Manifesto Launch on Saturday 12 May 2018 in Bulawayo. ..The batch of candidates who have been endorsed unanimously will be revealed soon, followed by those where consensus building is still going on. The National Standing Committee also deployed all its members to expedite the process of candidate identification and nomination across the country.
Khupe has been accused by her former colleague, Nelson Chamisa, of working to split the opposition vote so that she can be given a position in a Government of National Unity (GNU) to be formed after the 2018 Elections.
