Shona People Should Be Barred From Contesting In Matabeleland Elections: Ibetshu Likazulu
Mbuso Fuzwayo the secretary general of the Bulawayo based pressure group Ibetshu Likazulu has said that only Ndebele people should be allowed to represent Matabeleland in Parliament and in Council. Fuzwayo said the Ndebele people had been marginalised for long and should be allowed to represent their region.
Speaking to New Zimbabwe, Fuzwayo said
Shona speaking people should be just settlers in Matebeleland and not allowed to participate in elections. Only Ndebele people should be allowed to contest elections in the region because they have been marginalised for a long time. When Shona speaking people represent Matebeleland region, they will actually be reducing the voice of the Ndebele people in parliament.
